Basically for the [info]damned Oktoberfest fic and also for the post-apocalypse Winchesters at [info]fountainofcod. Instead of Sam's tattoo on the CD, it's [info]damned Dean's tattoo.

Okay, so today I had off, and I went out to eat with my roomie since I saw a hole in the wall hamburger place with avocados. Short story is basically we're waiting for the bus and this guy comes up with pamphlets, puts one in a newspaper stand, gives one to the roomie, look at me and around my head and says:

"You should know that scar in the back of your head lets the demons in!"

Sadly, I was just paranoid I had a scar/bald spot but I don't. What the hell was that.

"Borrowed" from [info]lady_angelina

Give me:

1. A word.
2. A character I've roleplayed before.

I will give you a 100 word (or more) drabble.

Otherwise, general series-characters/pairing-prompt format.

The canon characters I've played are: Dean Winchester, Qui-Gon Jinn, Clark Kent, Eddie Brock/Venom, Alec/494, Spock (TOS)

My fandoms are: Star Wars, Star Trek, Supernatural, Spider-Man, Smallville, Dark Angel

This'll be long with some (okay, a lot) of pictures. I don't have a lot of panel pictures, however, since I was usually pretty far from the stage and although I'd have a good shot of the screen, I'd keep getting grainy shots or people's flashes strobbing (there's an insane number of cameras going off in these panels). Post will eventually be IMAGE HEAVY.

Just go back from Comic-Con. <3 Best con experience I've had. I'll put up a quasi-convention report today or tomorrow or something, I have to go through my pictures and stuff. I'll do a new post with more details that I can remember.

However, DAMN at the SPN panel.

Edit:

Panels I attended are:

Thursday
- Heroes, Villains and Archetypes
- Quantum Quest
- Entertainment Weekly's Female Power Icons
- Burn Notice
- Psych
- Anthropology of Star Trek (unfortunately, I fell asleep a few times in this, it was a little too close to my college courses and I mastered falling asleep in a chair in the lectures at UCI)

Friday
- Farscape 10th Anniversary
- Disney/Pixar: Animation (Toy Story 3, The Princess and the Frog, Beauty and the Beast 3D, Prep and Lockdown, Miyazaki's Ponyo)
- "9" panel
- Legion (angels with machine guns, more or less), and District 9 (looks great and damn, it's a lot more violent than the previous stuff showed)
- Star Wars Spectacular (I walked out on this, mostly because the hosts were obnoxious as hell - they were this duo from Attack of the Show - and there didn't seem to be any real announcements. However, Young Boba Fett will be in S2 of Clone Wars)
- Star Wars Fan Film Awards

Saturday
- Film Illustrators (showcased a lot of artists/storyboards done by people working on Spider-man 3 and etc)
- Solomon Kane
- Extract (made by Mike Judge, seems like Office Space from the perspective of a factory manager)
- Zombieland and 2012
- Iron Man 2 (AWWW YEAAAH. The clip was insanely awesome)
- Kevin Smith (I was dying of laughter in this. Seriously, look up the Youtube clips if they're up yet - there's some great interaction with the con-goers asking questions, especially Glasses Guy, Clark Kent cosplayer, and Twilight Bag Guy).

Sunday
- Smallville
- Supernatural

- Went to Burn Notice and Psych panels
- Had some epic levels of fail and injured myself before even setting foot at the convention (stubbed/tripped hard on a curb, my toe had massive split skin/blood Thursday)
- We walked out on the Star Wars panel, mostly because of the really lame hosts. I missed if there was any news about the live-action SW TV show, but it looks like Young Boba Fett will be in the Clone Wars cartoon.
- Also hit the Disney/Pixar panel. Got to see about eight minutes of The Princess and the Frog, among other things.
- Saw the 9, Legion/District 9 panels, am now currently sitting waiting for the Star Wars fanfilm awards.
- Things bought: 0 :(
- Swag: two Burn Notice shirts, two Psych shirts (along with plastic eightballs), two IGN shirts, two Stark Industry plastic "pass cards".
- Also, was walking away on the second floor, was staring at someone while she was staring at me and it turned out it was [info]lynxgriffin. YO (we totally did end up going to the SW fanfilms, omg best seating we've had so far in a panel).
- Fell asleep in the Star Trek anthropology panel. With the speaker, the Power Point slides and the atmosphere, it was a little too close to being back at college and if there's anything I learned there, it was to fall asleep sitting up in two seconds flat. Don't remember much of the panel, ha.
- Saturday: currently in the Film Illustrator's panel. It's the first panel I've been in but it's not packed for once, seems pretty relaxed. Going to try for the Iron Man 2 and Kevin Smith panels.

Story is, I used to be a big Gundam fan a few years ago: this was mostly the older series in the UC timeline, like 0080, Zeta Gundam, and the AU/sorta kinda one, Turn A Gundam. The other night I tried out [info]saiamander's Gundam game, hence the pimpage.

UC - Mobile Suit Gundam, Char's Counterattack: Nu Gundam/Amuro Ray Theme (it's all epic sounding. The series was the last of the main/UC story, taking place after Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam, although Turn A could've taken place a long time after it.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahViU8_KMBg

UC - 08th MS Team: AMV (08th MS Team was a short OVA, taking place during the '79 series. It's okay, had some nice animation, but this was what I watched after Gundam Wing and that's what got me into UC era. The Romeo/Juliet-esque love story is crap though)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATS5UsFKyNQ

UC - 08th MS Team: Gouf Custom vs 3 Gundams, 3 Tanks (Fight scene, pretty much. Also, series was notable for having the main characters, grunts, all using Gundams and they don't have magical plot shields like they seem to in the other series, aside from 0080. One of them here got its head taken off, so they had to jury-rig on a fail-head. Also, the voice actor for Shiro was Ryo Akiyama's dub actor from Digimon Tamers. Unf.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg5FNCoxiR8

UC - 0080, War in the Pocket (spoilers: It's a pretty sure series, only six episodes. It was notable for having a pretty small cast, with one main as a neutral kid, the other as a Federation pilot [Christina] and the other as the enemy pilot [Bernie]. Bernie basically was the shit but bawww ;_;.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Fa60qR6Vc

UC - 0080, War in the Pocket: Hygogg scene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p_Kn11twTg

UC - Zeta Gundam OP (English, I think. It's suddenly all score and no singing which MIGHT BE AN IMPROVEMENT. The old song was very 80's: Zeta Gundam is probably the best series in my opinion, but it's pretty dated. However, darker than the others, with a pretty high body count. Being a main character pretty much doesn't save anyone in the end. I think some of the new series have borrowed from Zeta Gundam and the other UC series. Zeta Gundam takes place after Mobile Suit Gundam, the '79 series, so it features some of the characters from that a few years down the line)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXxUp3ol_sw

UC - Zeta Gundam: Amuro Ray meets Char Aznable again (They were previously enemies in the first series, but the corruption from the Federation meant they both had to work together. Amuro Ray was the first Gundam pilot, but was under house arrest in the series until this point. Also, lol at the pretty animation from the movie: suddenly it's not SO 80'S and the quasi-romantic GLOW)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfIeRdSwFGc

AU - Turn A Gundam: Final Shore Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCQnPxj3hdU

AU - Turn A Gundam: Brief fight (the lulzy thing about Turn A was the Earth people had regressed to like, 1900's clothes/technology so they still dress like it and their idea of combat was to try to attack the Mobile Suits with bi-planes. All their technology is pretty much dug up from whatever their ancestors had the foresight to put underground, since all the tech topside got owned by Turn A. It's also crap they never dubbed this series. :\)

Random, but for anyone interested: Target might be having a sale on Supernatural Season for $18.99 (it usually ranged between $44-$49 normally). I just picked mine up.

And unrelated, but Dad asked to see Star Trek with me (he's the Star Trek guy, I'm the Star Wars fan) and we went to see it.

In bullet points:

- Hell yeah, going to Long Beach this afternoon to visit Dad (lap-swimming tomorrow hopefully and Supernatural).

- Oh [info]damned Winchester plottage.
- I think I'm set with the financial aid for the Academy of Art, although it's going to be interesting taking classes online. I was going "daw" because I sent the admissions rep I've been talking to some of my Photoshop stuff and he said it looked really good. He was interested in getting me waived from some classes but he couldn't because I'm not familiar with Illustrator/ETC, just PS. So basically I'm going to be uh, ahead in that class for now I guess.

- Got bored, started making a FST for Winchesters in [info]damned as a totally, totally transparent attempt at pimping music. That and I guess Photoshop practice: started with the cover, it kind of blew up into mocking up the back, insert and CD itself.

- Applied to some new jobs. Also YES movies: T4's coming out this month. :D

So I was wondering how many movies I've seen from about 2004-2009 (2004-2008 I was working at a movie theater, so I got in free). I put up a list of what I saw in the theater, not counting multiple viewings or things I ended up seeing a lot of the movie while just working in the theater and doing theater checks (ie No Country for Old Men, etc). Looking at it, damn. I had a pretty high crap threshold because I actually saw some of these out of boredom and just the novelty of popping into any theater in our chain for free.

[SPOILERS]

First episode I got to see in a long while with my dad. Watching SPN with my dad=infinitely better because he'll laugh out loud at things. :3 The episode was good, I liked it better than the last one. Also got some Ninja!Elbowing!Castiel, and I loved the way they called out some of the...uh, wackier aspects of the SPN fandom. I swore they reused an actress who was already in Supernatural, except she died in Season 2. Chuck was adorable, but they should've just had him hop in the back seat of the Impala and have that mystery arch angel tethered to it :D

Also for a potentially crack episode, really dug the darker parts weaved in there. Can't wait for the finale and the episode before it. Hell yeah.

Honestly, there's probably a lot of people out there who have reaction posts better than mine. Going to be short, but the episode was Bad. Ass. A lot of "OH SNAP" moments, another one that almost made me sporfle tea onto my screen (the "LOL DAMMIT" one), and I really like how they've been handling any sign of the angel wings. Also hell yeah on continuity and adding to stuff they had happen so far. The conversation with Castiel at the end was far more effective than the repeated Impala Roadside Conffesionals. I feel really bad for Dean ;_; and Sam chasing after Castiel going "MIRACLE. NOW".

All in all, I really enjoyed the episode. *geeks out so bad*

FFFF YEAH. In the last episode, Venom outted Peter Parker as Spider-man right in front of the Daily Bugle staff. This one picks up right after that one. Episode is basically a bigass Spidey vs Venom fight, and they play up how messed up Venom/Brock is. *THUMBS UP* Won't say anything other than that but awwww YEAH.

Oh snap, I totally forgot Spectacular Spider-man came back.

Anyway, so far the highlights from episodes I've seen: fight animation is still fun and pretty fluid, everyone still looks like Wind Waker, I actually didn't mind Kraven as a lion-thing, you get two shots of Cletus Kasady (grumpy with a Santa hat; pretty good chance we might get Carnage?) and hell yeah, Venom's coming back in episode 2x06 I THINK. Also, thank you continuity for noticing that Brock vanished.

Also, it is eerily disturbing how friendly the Sinister Six are with each other and going "YEAH TEAM WORK! No, YOU'RE more awesome!" (also, check out the note Doc Ock left on the coffee machine n 2x04, as well as his mug :D).

Okay, so I've read almost all of the Sword of Truth books and uh, they're kind of special, in that bad, keep-reading-even-though-it's-not-that-good kind of way. Anyway, apparently they decided to make a TV series based on the first book "Wizard's First Rule", so watching the pilot and...

- Richard and Zedd barely know each other?
- Richard didn't memorize the Book of Counted Shadows? I lolled at their description of it - it teaches ZOMG POWER. Yeah, okay. That's really threatening/urgent there.
- The quad of four has five men?
- What was even the point of them doing the vine bite in the tv show?
- Richard's kind of a huge pussy (but far scrawnier/newbish than the character in the book is). He also looks like he jumped out of Eragon, which is horrifying enough already. D:
- Since this looks like it'll be the ABC-safe kind of deal, how are they even going to start doing the other NSFW stuff in the book, like the Mord-Sith? (Checked the episode line-up and they are putting the Mord-Sith Denna in, so whhaaat?)
- The gar CG effects looks so dated that I lolled bad (it honestly looked like it was straight out of Gremlins or Ghostbusters).
- Scenery is nice though since they filmed in New Zealand, hello there Middle Earth.
- Seems to be more like loosely based on the book and more episodic since there doesn't seem to be a deadline with the Rahl-has-until-winter to open the boxes of Orden since there are no boxes now.
- A lot of the changes make it seem like it's a fantasy rip-off of Star Wars, especially with Richard not being lifetime friends with Obi-Wan Zedd, who wants to give him a lightsaber the Sword of Truth and then pulling a Luke and running home to find his Aunt and Uncle dad killed by the Empire an agent of Darken Rahl.

Will probably keep watching just to see what gets changed, but eh, looks pretty generic...although considering the source, not surprising.

Spoilers but:

- YES at Sam punching it with his powers and getting demon eyes
- Ouch on Sam's first meeting with angels being less than what he imagined and how you can see Dean trying to cheer him up. ;_____;
- YES at more hints about Dean's stint in Hell
- The look on Dean's face when he witnesses Sam punching it and getting demon eyes. ;_;

/tv/ made me lol on the episode thread. What /tv/ had to say:

"When baby angels are scared of the dark, their mothers tell them to pray to Dean Winchester, and he will save them from Demons.

Baby demons greatest fear is that Dean Winchester is hiding under their bed, ready to destroy them at a moment's notice."

I can't wait for episode 10 - I heard that's when they'll probably reveal more about Dean's vacation in Hell, so I'm gunning bad for that to air. In other words, I bought a crapload of candy to bank on the Halloween sales. <3

Ended up doing a third part for kicks. Same [info]damned universe, as a second parter for my Oktoberfest '08 entry.

Title: Peace of Mind
Beta: None
Word Count: 4,315
Rating: PG-PG-13 (tame one?)
Character(s): Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Max Guevera, Harry Osborn, Eddie Brock (two second cameo)
Pairing(s) (if applicable): None. Maybe Dean/Max is you squint (more like wishful thinking on Dean's part)
Summary: A few days after raiding the kitchen for supplies and Dean's encounter with Bigfoot a lurcher, Sam adjusts to being Obi-Wan's "student", Dean wants more than anything to find out more about the good Head Doctor, Sam encounters a certain Osborn, and reflects on just how far he'll go to save Dean's lost memories.
Notes (if applicable): Did this one for fun and because I'm a loser. Anyway, probably some spoilers for S1-S2 of Supernatural. And some for Spider-man 3 and minor ones for Dark Angel if you've never seen it. Takes place after:
-1- Outside Help
-2- Vested Interest

("I can't do it", Sam Winchester said, frustrated. He frowned down at the fork lying on the table between them: it sat there stubbornly, refusing to budge)

QUIET ITS ON!!!11

EDIT POST-SHOW:

It was better than I expected. The movie was kind of "special", and while this did have some of the movie in it, it was actually not that bad. The main problems for me is whenever Anakin or Ahsoka show up - needs less of them, more of other Jedi such as Plo Koon (who apparently is a major badass - and Yoda is apparently the master of BITCH SLAPS). I did like they had more clones here and made an attempt to give them personalities, although I'm holding out they'll have different ones, like ARCs or commandos.

The worst part, actually, is the droids. They talk way too much now and there's a lot of retarded humor coming from them and a lot of it is hit or miss. And it looks like Jar Jar MIGHT be popping up later. But, on the flip side, might get a BATTLE OF KAMINO HELL YEAH.

I'm sorta-kinda interested in the TV show now, even if there's some stuff I don't like about it.

Summary: Sam undergoes MU, finds his visions go backward instead of forward, and thinks about the Dean he met in Landels.
Notes (if applicable): Some SPN spoilers, at least up to Season 1, some of 2 possibly. Wanted to put in more characters, but was concerned about the length of it and it kind of mutated more into the vision thing than being actually about Landels. Also, wasn't sure exactly when Sam was from, so just guessed before S2 finale. :(

(It felt like his head was going to split apart.)

OKTOBERFEST '08

Title: Vested Interest
Beta: None
Word Count: 4,397
Rating: PG-PG-13 (tame one?)
Character(s): Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Max Guevara, a lurcher
Pairing(s) (if applicable): None, Max/Dean if you squint
Summary: After coming to Obi-Wan for help about his abilities, Sam begins his "training", Dean reflects on his relationship with Sam in Landels and hooks up with Max. The four make a kitchen raid and run into something on the way. Dean's not a happy camper.
Notes (if applicable): Takes place after the last Oktoberfest'07 fic I did for the Damned!Winchesters. Spoilers for at least Season 1 of Supernatural and some of Season 3(minor).

(Dean Winchester had seen a lot of weird things, but when Sam told him the other night "I know someone who can help us", he didn't think he meant *Obi-Wan Kenobi*)

SO. NEW EPISODE TONIGHT.

Smallville was, as usual, made of fail. It wasn't actually the worst the show has to offer, but it's a case of too-little, too-late. We get more Clark/Lois banter, but it seems to be coming out of the blue. And how could Clark possibly get a job at the Daily Planet - he has no college degree, no real writing experience (writing for his high school newspaper's lunch menu doesn't count) and it just seems shoe-horned in by the writers.

Eh, whatever on the show. After last season, I don't think it can get any worse...or is that some WISHFUL THINKING? D:

But what about Supernatural? )

Yoinked from [info]wyna_hiros

NAME ANY OF MY CHARACTERS THAT I HAVE EVER PLAYED. AND THEN I'LL FILL OUT THE FOLLOWING:

❥ what initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
❥ one of his/her best traits.
❥ one of his/her worst traits.
❥ how easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
❥ the story/thread/chapter/post/etc where I feel that I truly captured them.
❥ my plans (if any) to write the character in the near future

Characters I've written that I can recall. The recent ones are from [info]damned, the other are from a short-lived AC RP and the other was [info]paixaorpg.

Qui-Gon Jinn -(Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice-The Phantom Menace)
Darman/RC-1136 - (Star Wars: Republic Commando)
Clark Kent - (Smallville - S2)
Eddie Brock - (Spider-man 3 - amalgram)
Denzel - (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children)
Raiden - (Metal Gear Solid 2)

This is from wayyy back from the Wildman Star Wars Cantina. We're talking '97 old.

Shampoo - (Ranma 1/2)
Famira Jinn - (Original Character - some bizarro crossover between a Star Wars Jedi and Dune)

So. Been re-reading all of Jedi Apprentice and reading Jedi Quest for the first time. Going to be starting on Last of the Jedi to finish it up. Both JA and JQ are pretty good, but man, JQ is actually pretty depressing. JA is sometimes with some foreshadowing to Qui-Gon's death and Obi-Wan's future, but you still get the jawsome, wibbly relationship of a "good" Master-Padawan team. JQ is a lot heavier with the foreshadowing and while it does flesh out Anakin to be a ton more sympathetic (it goes from post TPM up to before AOTC) and gets into his viewpoint, it also makes it kind of painful to read at times because of how you know things will end up and you can see some of the problems already piling up in Young!Anakin before the last two movies. Last book had Korriban (the Sith planet for the dead) and I fangirled over that cause I remember seeing that in KOTOR. >:DDD

On IRL stuff: going to be gone from the 3rd on until I can get internet hooked up again. D:
